Hobby Corner Closing
Awww… Say it ain’t so.
The one beloved and respected LHS (Local Hobby Shop) that we’ve all come to depend on over the years is closing its doors as of the end of this coming June. No longer will we be able to hop over to Hull Street for a bit o’ this ‘n that to keep our hobby juices flowing. Our options will soon be limited to online ordering and ever-inflating shipping charges, or the long trek to Parham and Broad where the Hobby House of Inhospitality is located.
I just spoke with Yvonne, the critical point of contact for many in our local market for the past 25 years. She is somewhat melancholy about her plans to close because it’s been such a good run. So many folks have depended on her presence as the proprietor of a trusted LHS owner these many years. She has no regrets about the long hours that being a retail slave have imposed on her life… she cherishes the relationships that have grown out of it.
Until the latch on the front door is turned for the last time, you can still depend on Hobby corner to fill you needs via special order. Expect the same cheerful and courteous service that has been delivered over the years. In-store inventory may shrink a bit, but they’ll get you what you need. Please continue to do business as usual during the transition and support this valued resource.
One door closes, another door opens?
