50cc Airplane Basics—Fiber-lite Edge 540 Review

If you have flown one of the larger gas planes, you quickly find out that the lighter wing loading that is inherent to this class gives some amazing benefits. Lighter wing loading translates to awesome power-to-weight ratios and the 50cc aerobatics ships feel very light at the controls and can fly very slowly.

I had a chance to fly the Fiber-lite Edge 540 with a DA50R engine and it has the ability to fly precise maneuvers very slowly with positive control. Your bag of tricks will expand and with the proper setup, you can perform runway-long knife edge passes right on the deck! Straight or Rolling Harriers may also be performed close to the ground with solid feel and the DA50R offers plenty of pull-out power in case of a bad input by the pilot. IMAC maneuvers track straight with minimal stick input making this kit a double threat.

The Fiber-lite kit is made of the finest, laser-cut plywood and balsa and goes together almost as fast as you can glue parts together. The kit comes out straight and light with minimal effort.
I will post some amazing video on our Web site soon.
