Jerry Smith Outlaw - Fast Fun on a Budget
Several of the MVRCC members are working on a joint project with other clubs in the area to build some Jerry Smith Outlaws. For those of you who do not know Jerry, he has won the National Fun-Fly several times and has many great plans that are simple to build and tons of fun.
The Outlaws that we are building will be powered by a Webra .36 with an APC 8 X 8 prop and a Mousse Can silencer that is tuned for extra power.
A Hayes, 6 ounce fuel tank will be installed and will require that the 2 root ribs be moved outboard to accommodate the tank shape. The stock, Webra carb will need to be rotated 180 degrees to position the fuel inlet and needle-valve properly Jerry assures us that the specified motor package will weigh in right at 12 ounces giving incredible performance both vertically and horizontally. Expect to see a fleet of Outlaws soon!
