2007 Ashland VA Butcherfest
Some good buddies of mine who own a private flying site just North of Ashland have extended an invitation to all area pattern fliers to join them for an IMAC sanctioned contest on June 23 and 24. The property owner, Jerry Huntsinger, his son Kent (aka: flyin woodbutcher) and Jamie Turner will be hosting this event - created by popular demand resulting from the overwhelming success of the Northern SE IMAC ‘07 primer/bootcamp. Photos of the event, the participants and the site can be seen here.

Both Kent and his dad are avid builders and flyers, Kent preferring to avoid the ARF route in order to enjoy the performance benefits gained by assembling his aircraft to his own high standards of quality and craftsmanship. Kent is seen here with his DA50 powered FiberLite Edge 540. Less than 16 pounds and guided by Spektrum.
Plans are being made and the contest is looking to be a fun event, with a variety of extra-curricular activities being offered. Read more about it on FlyingGiants.com
